Earlier this year, we watched in sorrow as friends, family, and fellow Angelenos lost their homes to the LA wildfires. In the aftermath, we felt called to create something that could help our city rebuild safely, while honoring the beauty of our natural landscapes.

We created this booklet with the goal of supporting homeowners in crafting landscapes that are both attractive and fire-conscious. Grounded in standards developed by the LA County Fire Department for defensible space and fuel modification, it’s a practical resource for building resilience into the places we call home.
