The landscape design for a new classroom building at Delevan Drive Elementary School involves establishing a new center for the school in the form of an outdoor assembly area with shaded amphitheater seating. Existing native California Sycamores are highlighted and augmented with native California plantings to create a learning demonstration garden and casual recess space. Extensive asphalt play areas are reorganized and improved with solar reflective coating. The large site includes three graded terraces, and new accessible pathways are provided to link classroom, play and upper edible learning garden spaces.
